Taking that first step to consider therapy can often be daunting. To facilitate the process, here are some of the most common questions I get asked about working together. If your queries aren’t listed here, click here to get in touch.

The first session is spent getting to know one another, understanding the nature and history of what brings you to therapy, and determining your therapeutic goals. We will discuss possible treatment approaches and I will answer any questions that you might have.

Both in-person as well as online sessions are typically 50 minutes long.

This can vary depending on each individual’s needs, goals, and nature of concerns. Every client is unique. Some clients adapt well to a solution-focused approach and may see change within a few sessions. Others may benefit from longer-term support and guidance.

Again, this can vary depending on the nature of your concerns and where you are on your journey. During the initial stages, it is recommended that we meet regularly and weekly to ensure that you remain on track and are getting the support you need. Consistency is the key to progress and change. As progress is made, the frequency of sessions can be reduced and we can review this as we go along.

Yes. I am also available for online sessions to suit your individual circumstances. No commute, no waiting room. All you need is a stable and secure network connection and a quiet and private space. You will receive a link to our virtual room before each session.

I understand that unavoidable conflicts or emergencies can occur, and I will try my best to accommodate this. However, please ensure you provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice to avoid a cancellation fee which is charged at the rate of a full session. Ample notice allows your slot to be offered to another client. In the case of sickness, please submit a doctor’s note so that the cancellation fee can be waived.

Everything you share with me remains confidential and between us. However, there are some exceptions in view of legal and ethical obligations to preserve your safety and that of others, details of which we will discuss in our first session.
